SEO Specialist Job Description

Top 3 Key responsibilities & Duties

White-hat inbound link development from relevant sites
Perform information gathering services including technical site analysis, competitive / keyword research and backlink analysis
Perform content maintenance and updates
Keep pace with SEO, search engine, social media, and internet marketing industry trends and developments, particularly white hat and black hat tactics so as not to violate search engine guidelines
Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels, compile and present SEO performance reports
Negotiate link deals with webmasters initiated by the staff or yourself
Directory submissions for SEO purposes
Create spreadsheets of contact data from websites
Keeping track/logs of all leads, with dates and responses
Optimize on-site content for maximum visibility and ranking in the major search engines; this includes HTML, site structure, as well as page layout and navigation considerations
Monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports, and key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance client goals
Check Google index & webmaster tools for possible duplicate content and other penalties
Set up Analytics and other reporting mechanisms
Robots.txt, htaccess, sitemap.xml optimization
Working with article writers to add fresh, original content to client’s sites

Secondary Responsibilities & Duties (may require training)

Knowledge in conducting keyword research
Proven experience in SEO and up-to-date with the latest SEO trends and best practices
Proficient in purely white hat SEO method in link building
Highly knowledgeable in SEO best practices: how to avoid penalties, how to improve rankings, etc
Able to do analysis on both on-page and off-page SEO
Positive attitude, detail, and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
Able to communicate in written and spoken English

EG: You will build a solid relationship with you assigned client and will receive a 90% or greater on the ‘Client Review Survey’ which is conducted at 3 month intervals
EG: You will comply with all privacy and Security of Data Standards and will have no material breaches
EG: Through understanding of you clients work processes. Within 6 months you will have 100% completed and maintained up to date the clients intranet (back office -processes and procedures)
EG: You will be able to demonstrate that you have been able to take on more assign task This will be achieved by learning from best practice for colleagues, being proactive with clients, making suggestions on how to improve processes and you will encourage clients to find ways to do their back office and marketing function better, cheaper, faster.
EG: You will be viewed as strong team player You will share ideas and knowledge you learn with your colleagues to improve our service offering and you will provide mentorship for new staff as part of our ‘Peer Buddy System’.
